    Singapore Legal Futures Conference

The global legal landscape is facing unprecedented change. Driven by transformative developments in technology, the economy and society, our laws, legal system and legal sector are evolving, at a quicker pace than during any other period since Singapore’s independence 50 years ago. In the next few decades, we may be grappling with a legal landscape that will be dramatically different from now.

How will these changes impact us? How will new and disruptive technologies impact law and justice? With increasing cross-border trade and economic integration, how will commercial forces such as increasing client demands and changes in labour markets affect the legal sector? How can laws and legal frameworks remain effective and relevant against a backdrop of evolving public expectations and social norms? What can participants in Singapore’s vibrant law and justice sector do to adapt and thrive, given these uncertain legal futures?

Jointly organised by the Singapore Academy of Law and the Ministry of Law to mark SG50, the Singapore Legal Futures Conference will explore the driving forces that are shaping our legal landscape. It will bring together a group of respected legal futures experts and thinkers to discuss how these driving forces are already manifesting and to engage the audience on future possibilities.

It will be held on 8 July 2015 at the Supreme Court Auditorium from 1.30pm to 6.10pm.
